A trip to Milan and a stay at Townhouse Duomo in suite Velasca designed by Architect Agostino Danilo Reale

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I was in Milan to give a talk at IED about fashion and film. The students were very enthusiastic and it was great fun for me.

I extended my visit with a few nights at the Townhouse Duomo. It is impossible to find a hotel more central as Townhouse Duomo which is in fact in the famous Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, a few steps, literally, from the Duomo square which I could see right out of my window. Townhouse Duomo is a five-star luxury hotel, my room was designed by the Architect Agostino Danilo Reale. Despite being in the center of the square, the room was absolutely quiet. Breakfast was served in a common room decorated like a wine cellar with the walls lined with wine and champagne bottles. If you walk through the reception, which is on the 5th floor,  you can take a walk up the steps  to the Highline Galleria which gives you a spectacular view of Milan’s rooftops and of course the Duomo.

The hotel is extremely secure with 24 hour guards, the entrance takes a little getting used to as you walk through a courtyard and then take the elevator to the 5th floor to register. The breakfast is on the 2nd floor and you best not lose your room card as each floor has a code just to enter so if security is what you are concerned about, believe me no one can just walk into this hotel or even enter your floor. I only had the breakfast at the hotel but there are many choices for dining and a beautiful rooftop terrace. Unfortunately, it rained my entire trip so I could not take pleasure on the terrace. If you are into taking the metro or a bus, all is just a few steps away from the hotel. The staff is very friendly and ready to help with what ever your needs may be.
