Directly pointing out The Emerging Dutch from this large Fall 2018 – Post Spring 2018 Couture Season: NINAMOUNAH’s Ninamounah Langestraat – who hardly cares about sexual dimorphism, but instead manifests on pleasure’s behalf.
With menswear’s and couture’s marathon behind, Paris has gone under a peaceful state of fashion until women’s runways will return end of February. But it was London’s White Rabbit Studio, chosen by 2017’s Amsterdam Rietveld Academie graduate, to bring her first collection: models and crew Insta-dancing while connecting their bodies, souls, (and all extremities in between); emphasizing their natural fervor – seduction.
The ambiance could have been an abandoned butcher’s barbecue on a rural side, dry and arid, all animalistic bodies on the grill, marinated by the physical tension generated by those restrictive and intervened school uniforms. It all turned into hot stuff: kabang shebang from Amsterdam!
Ninamounah trained herself earlier as an intern at A.F. Vandevorst in Antwerp, similar darkness accompanying both, right? Her recreational drug: while balancing, sweat kept painting and moisturizing those bodies while lips went sticky under mohair’s most sensual hair. The use of colors (velvet green my favorite) helped to draw attention to the workmanship. A knitted mustard vest combined with a balaclava, worn by Amsterdam based stylist and gorgeous Jean Paul Paula, made sweat dripping. A major fashion party, where models freely engage in open and unrestrained styling activity and group fun.
Emerging designers migrate from fashion weeks to fashion weeks, from Amsterdam to the world, symbolizing disappearing creative borders, blurring them, searching for the unknown and unexpected. But NINAMOUNAH’s London debut brought her closer to fulfilling her post graduation dream: running her own farm for children and the animal kingdom within the city borders.
