SUNDAY’s STREET FABULOUS: Schepers Bosman Fall 2018 – Text by Marcelo Horacio Maquieira Piriz

Dear Shaded Viewers & Diane,

Sunday morning in Paris ends a week in which the traditional tailoring disappeared from the runway, now radically abandoned by the emerging ones. Miraculously and in between rain showers; we exclusively met Dutch duo Schepers Bosman portraying their Fall 2018 menswear on the street. Inviting us to discover what’s hidden in the garments themselves or in the ideas behind it: an elaborated wardrobe we furiously want to wear – fashion’s current and only goal for coming season.

Fabrics were imported from Northern England (lightweight denims, cotton corduroys, checkered techno nylon and double stretch fleece). The major challenge was to patchwork the Amsterdam School and flower painting from the Golden Age; and turns all into daily wear for a pedestrian you could just pass by on a narrow sidewalk. With tremendous skills in machinery, the designer’s manufacture from Amsterdam is ideas to be exported, garments to be desired, so far; destined for a man who’s itinerary is mostly unpredictable.

Les Etoiles Mercedes-Benz 2017 Design Competition winners Schepers Bosman, incorporated prestige into their home country The Netherlands by receiving the most difficult trophy of European competitions today. Its hard jury goes deep down to the Paris couture core we hardly meet and simultaneously: into Paris itself. With the door now opened and linked to official networks, Schepers Bosman creative duo Sanne & Anne, is back at their fashion hub offering this time Amsterdam in return.

Shaded? Yes please. Sturdy? Only made for tough ones, like at home.

Best,

MHM.
