Dear Diane, dear Shaded Viewers,
I believe that the best example of what a young designer has to do on a catwalk was set by Outsider’s Division at the Samsung Ego catwalk last tuesday: be creative, do a little crazy, be fun, enjoy yourself.
Not that a young designer can’t pretend he or she is mature enough so he or she can be hired to work in a senior “serious” brand, not at all. No problem, I understand… and to be honest, nothing of what Outsider Division does is completely new or fresh: their aesthetic has been around in different times and forms, but there’s something genuine and well done that makes me think they are doing the things allright. That they are having fun and living their present moment. Thats very fashionable.
