True South – Gustavo Ten Hoever at ARC Fine Art May 6 – June 15th in Connecticut, USA

Dear Shaded Viewers,

10-MACONDO 100x150

I used to pride myself in turning my flat into a mini gallery for the photographer Gustavo Ten Hoever, of course it was for my eyes only. A few decades ago when I was the fashion editor for Joyce Ma’s JOYCE, my photographer of choice was always Gustavo Ten Hoever. ARC Fine Art is giving Ten Hoever his third solo show following El Romantico and La Madreselva in 2012 and 2010.

Gustavo Ten Hoever was born in Uruguay and went to photo school in Montevideo, Uruguay. He moved to NYC in 1986 and is currently based in Paris. His first photo exhibition was Full Moon People, chronicling the indigenous people in the Brazilian Amazon.

True South features 13 chromogenic prints including one diptych which give you an idea of the photographers extensive travelling. There is something other worldly and spiritual about the work. Above are a few examples.
