Jardins Exhibition opens at the Grand Palais in Paris photos by Marco de Rivera

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I remember when I first moved to Paris and life was not that easy  I found myself spending time visiting gardens like the Bois de Boulogne and  Jardin des Plantes. I knew when the iris’ and the roses were in bloom and it gave me great pleasure being in a city but in touch with nature. All that to say I was enchanted by the idea of an exhibition dedicated to the garden. Jardins walks us through six centuries of creation around the garden. Fragonard, Monet, Cezanne, Klimt, Picasso and Matisse are a few of the artists taking us from the Renaissance to today through painting, sculpture, photography, illustration, installations and sound design. Van Cleef & Arpels, the Caisse des Depots, Marche international de Rungis and the Fondation Ville and Patrimoine have supported the exhibition.
