Eyewear designer Percy Lau’s fashion film “Genesis”, creative directed by Tian Yuan, explores themes of destiny, faith and religion through the game of Mahjong. “Mahjong reveals suspicion and sin within individuals and the Mahjong table can be viewed as a metaphor of society and as a reflection of our humanity,” Lau explains.
Based around the premise of three retired players (‘The Holy Trinity’) engaging in a game of Mahjong in a dilapidated parlor, the result is a suspenseful story that shines a new light on traditional concepts while showcasing Lau’s eccentric designs.
