KOLOVRAT – MODALISBOA SS/16 – TEXT BY PHILIPPE POURHASHEMI PHOTOS BY RUI VASCO

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Fluid and effortless, Lidija Kolovrat's last collection felt sensual and soft, focusing on looser shapes and graphic contrasts. The designer's use of exclusive prints -which hinted at African heritage and abstract art- made dresses and shirts interesting, while stylish separates gently draped themselves around bodies, underlining movement and ease. Hair pieces added a tribal touch to several outfits, which sometimes had a unisex feel. Solid black -used in all kinds of textures- was mixed with blue, cream and gray, evoking the idea of natural pigments. Kolovrat's simple garments were often the strongest, from silky parachute shorts to sexy bandeau tops. Blending raw elements with sophisticated flair, her show came across as an alluring proposal.

Best,

Philippe
