MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK MADRID – ANA LOCKING SS16 TEXT BY PHILIPPE POURHASHEMI

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Appropriating the gender bender theme -which has been defining several high-end collections lately- Ana Locking delivered a youthful and upbeat show, twisting classic styles to give them a new twist. Using reworked sportswear fabrics, from bonded neoprene to techno lace, the designer balanced sorbet shades with strictly tailored lines, using orange as a bright accent. A menswear fitted trench in white lace was fun, as well as flirty mini-skirts adorned with ruffles. Referencing utilitarian and military garments, the show also included colored overalls, which added a playful touch to the rest of the collection.

Best,

Philippe
