Dear Diane and Shaded Viewers,
Last week, Filippo Anzalone and I were crazy busy putting together Fresh in Florence. The project is a new showcase of emerging designers during Pitti Uomo, in collaboration with Bjork Florence and Not Just A Label.
I’m excited to report it was a great success, mainly because we had seven excellent designers with us in the space – Vibe Johansson, Yojiro Kake, Sabrina Stadlober, Nicola Indelicato, Filippo Disperati, Rosh Mahtani from Alighieri Jewellery, and Helga Kovacs. It’s because of them that we had a packed opening night, and great press coverage from Fucking Young!, SoulMag, and iD Italy who published an article profiling six designers from Pitti Uomo, two of which were plucked from Fresh in Florence. We had visitors from Style.com, Vogue Italia, Harper’s Bazaar, and nowfashion.com, who were very impressed with the project and selection of designers. We also felt the support of local retailers, LuisaViaRoma and Guya Firenze, whose respective directors found time during the madness of Pitti to come by the space.
With this success, it’s looking like the next edition will go ahead in a bigger form – though of course will stay fresh. More info on this to come.
