Pitti Picks – Text and Photos by Eugene Rabkin

Dear Diane and Shaded Viewers,

I am in Florence at the Pitti Uomo men's fashion fair that draws over a thousand exhibiting brands. I have diligently braved the crowds and here are some of my favorites.

1. The Last Conspiracy shoes. These beauties are made in Portugal by artisans that have been making shoes before all of us were born. The last shapes and the treatments are top notch, not to mention the brand's name.

2. Henson jewelry from Australia.

3. Reinhard Plank hats. Because a little peasant chic never hurt no one.

4. Thom Browne eyewear. It's not easy to do something neat and new in eyewear, but I like what Mr. Browne is up to.

5. Faliero Sarti scarves. This particular one features an image from the Vatican, silk-screened onto the scarf.

6. Brooks saddle bag. Paging Tyler Brule. Now you can carry your Monocle magazines in style.

7. Bonastre backpack. I liked the sculptural feel and the clean, minimalist lines from this French bag-maker.

8. Studio Dessau briefcase. The original Bauhaus design reinvented. Apologies for three bags in a row, but it's Bauhaus!

9. Linda Farrow sunglasses. The white on these aviators make a nice twist on a hard to improve classic.

10. Three Animals shirt. This label is based in China and works with artisans. This denim indigo dyed shirt is a classic.

11. Ma' Ry" Ya cardigan. Just the perfect amount of asymmetry from this Italian knitwear maker.

12. Eastlogue coat. Last but not least, a bone white belted cotton coat in herringbone pattern. Impeccably made by this South Korean brand.
