MERCEDES-BENZ FASHION WEEK TBILISI – BESSARION FALL WINTER 15/16 – TEXT BY PHILIPPE POURHASHEMI

Dear Shaded Viewers,

When it comes to edgy elegance, Bessarion has what it takes to please fashionistas. The Tbilisi-based designer favors confident and outspoken women, who seem comfortable with their aggressive side. Highlights included dramatic, fringed bathrobe coats, impeccable tailored jackets and pants, domino check separates and black satin ensembles, an obsession within Georgian fashion circles. With an interesting set-up having the audience face the models directly, everything was seen sideways during the show, emphasizing Bessarion's structured and precise cuts. With their relaxed fur slides and unkempt hair, his models certainly did not seem to worry that much about what people thought of them.

Best,

Philippe
