FILM SYNOPSIS: Inspired by and starring American Ballet Theatre principal dancer Isabella Boylston, ”Today/Yesterday” is a surrealist portrait of a ballerina. We worked closely with Isabella, who took notes of her schedule, practice, performances and travels and shared her private mementos with us. Our frequent collaborator Christian Joy created a series of costumes in homage to Alexandra Exter’s costumes and sketches for the Soviet Avant Garde film ”Aelita.” ”Today/Yesterday” is composed of 7 scenes.

DIRECTOR’S BIO: Photography duo Ioulex is Julia Koteliansky and Alexander Kerr, originally from Moscow and Boston. They met at Parsons School of Design in Paris. Their editorial work and videos have appeared in the New York Times, T magazine, The New Yorker, Big, Nowness, Dossier Journal, Die Zeit and other international publications. Ioulex’s work was exhibited at AVA gallery in New York, Colette in Paris, Diesel Gallery in Tokyo, De Brakke Grond in Amsterdam. Their fashion film “A Mon Seul D
