Dear Shaded Viewers,

Last year I had the pleasure of visiting Austrian couturier Susanne Bisovsky’s atelier and home in Vienna a few days after her transcendent catwalk show at MQ Vienna Fashion Week. I flew to Vienna again this year to attend her latest runway show and I was not disappointed. Titled “Viennese Chic Caoutchouc”, the new collection employs latex in witty ways, trompe l’oeil, and Bisovsky’s trademark Austrian haute-folk fabrications and Eastern European references shot-up with some boudoir sex appeal.

This trompe l’oeil sweater is shades of Schiaparelli. I’ve finally gotten around to reading her lively memoir, A Shocking Life.
