“White – The First” installation at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma. Photos & text by Glenn Belverio

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Last month in Rome, Clara Tosi Pamphili curated an event at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma where she teaches. The Accademia is historically noteworthy because it was the academy of the great sculptor Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Clara worked with two other professors, Alberto Moretti and Graziella Pera, to present the wonderful work of her students in the Sala Colleoni of the academy. White powder was utilized to illustrate a link between sculpture and fashion.

Stylist Ludovico Milani mixed up the clothes designed by the students, who are 60% Italian, 30% Chinese and 10% from other countries. “I believe that a strong genius loci guides the young talent of these students,” says Clara. “They walk and breath in one of the birthplaces of Italian art.”

In addition to fashion, the installation also included soft sculptures and photography.
