Dear Shaded Viewers,

I’ve had a quick walk around some off schedule shows and events during Milan Fashion Week. I focused on new talents, new point of views. One of the shows I liked the most was the one of Tillmann Lauterbach, the German designer that has an artistic touch in whatever he does. This season presents “Objects of Ordinary Madness” , a concept inspired by sculptor Joel Shapiro and his exhibition in New York. The result is an ultimately wearable collection showcasing unexpected fabrics, sharp shapes and illusional effects. ‘Those sculpures, basic rectangular boxes and cubes crafted from cheap plywood and randomly sprayed on top, really hit me. I like randomness and also the movement those static pieces possess’ explained the designer. The collection has fluid lines, clean shapes, a futuristic twist yet oriental and with a bit of Antwerp Six styles. A perfect mix that goes from austerity to rock with some interesting leather looks, from prints and pastel colors to bicolor and monochromatic suits. Mauro Grifoni instead comes back this season with a new initiative. The milanese store is going to be a sort of lab that will introduce new upcoming brands selected by its Creative Director Ilaria Sesso. This season you can find among them: Francesco Balestrazzi, Giannico, Vitussi, Greta Boldini, Di Morabito, Fabio Cost
