A few snap shots from last night’s La Cambre end of the year show

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Last night's La Cambre fashion show was really refreshing. The opening with the two way mirror, the mise en scene, the performances, the music and  more than anything what I loved was the feeling of pure joy in the creation. The show started out with the second year students, the presentation on siamese twins reminded me a bit of the early days when Jun Takahashi did a collection based on twins for UNDERCOVER. Here  it was qite different and in fact everyone was not in pairs and the designers were distinguised by their headgear. The lampshades made me laugh.  The third year students concentrated on menswear and their presentations were enhanced by the fact that they were working with choreographers. My compliments to the casting, the hair and make-up teams  and the staging.  The fourth year offered some interesting proposals for women and then, after a break, the first and final year presented their work.

When the night ended I returned to the Metropole Hotel,  it was like stepping into a Hercule Poirot novel.  Pure cinema. Thank you Didier Vervaeren knowing that was exactly where I would want to stay.

Later,

Diane
