Dear Diane and Shaded Viewers,
"Start the Riot was conceived about 3 weeks before fashion week. The aim of the project is to encourage young people to become politically aware and involved. This project was sparked by living abroad and having too many people (Europeans and Americans) comment on the issues of Racism in Australia. This was obviously shocking and disappointing that Australia is perceived in this way, I love my country and want to be proud to call it home." – Ollie Henderson
Ollie sought out to use the overexposure that she and other models gain in their comings and goings from shows, for something meaningful. And it worked. Local and international press often showed more interest in these Start the Riot T-shirts, than most other things going on during Australian Fashion Week. It's now not surprising that Start the Riot will continue with the tee's being available soon at www.thehouseofriot.com.
