A magic moment with Patti Smith at the Robert Mapplethorpe Grand Palais

Dear Shaded Viewers,

In celebration of the Robert Mapplethorpe exhibition at the Grand Palais, Patti Smith was in conversation with the curator of the exhibition,  Jerome Neutres. She was so serene and honest and told lots of funny stories, one of my favorites was the Vanilla Fudge one and how when she and Mapplethorpe made a film, it was very spontaneous and all that Robert asked of her was to bring a clean shirt and not one with tomato or olive oil stains. She said she always dropped food on her clothes. She told the story behind many of the photos and how Mapplethorpe is still alive within her. The night was pure magic. I'll upload another song in the morning.

Later,

Diane
