PARIS AUTUMN-WINTER 14 PREVIEW : ALEXANDRA VERSCHUEREN Part.2 – PHOTOS BY SHOJI FUJII

ALEXANDRA VERSCHUEREN F/W14 " WAVES " Part.2

Alexandra Verschueren, a 26 year old Belgian designer born in Antwerp, has been independant since she launched her first collection in S/S12.

Up until now she has opted  for presentations as opposed to runway shows. Her goal is to make beautifully constructed clothing that is timeless.

The collection is understated with subtle details that go unnoticed in photographs but are a secret pleasure when worn and studied up close. She surprises you with the extreme attention that she pays to the  tiniest details in the finishing and production.

It's rare to find a young designer who has this level of craftmanship and the knowlage of quality.

Buyers believe in the authenticity and beauty of the pieces she makes and because of that she has built a loyal customer base ever since she launched her brand. When a 70 + year old Japanese tailor with great pride and decades of skills produces the jackets you cannot expect to pay the same price as if it were produced in eastern europe or China but then again you do not get the same quality and  as the old adage goes, cliche but true, you get what you pay for.
