Private Opening for Bea Szenfeld @ Decades Hosted by B. Akerlund: Monday Dec. 2 All photos by Sonny Vandevelde

Dear Shaded Viewers,

A little history about the Swedish artist/designer, Bea Szenfeld,  who will present her paper sculpture/fashion series "Decimuted" for the first time in the US. Szenfeld has worked with Stella McCartneyBjork and Swarovski and is known for her theatrical and innovative presentations and design. All of her works are created by hand, without the use of 3-D printers, in her Stockholm, Sweden studio. But before all of that we met when I was on the jury for the first fashion reality TV  show, "Fashion House" which took place in 2003 in Rome, way before Project Runway… and where Bea won first prize. I might add that Gareth Pugh was also in the mix. The Fashion House was a series of coutries which included France/England/Italy/Sweden/Denmark, I am probably forgetting a country…that was 10 years ago. I remember doing the casting for the French House and it was the hottest summer in Paris. I had to do video interviews and I thought my subjects were going to melt. I gave them ice cold lemonade and had the fan trying to blow cool breezes on them but what it did was blow away the audio part of the interviews. At any rate that is ancient history this post is to inform you that Decades with B. Akerlund will celebrate Bea December 2nd.

Later,

Diane
