Dear Shaded Viewers and Diane,

It's unsettling to find out it's been almost 18 months since I was in Spain to attend the Awards Ceremony of the BILBAO INTERNATIONAL ART&FASHION competition, but it must be so as now the biannual event is just getting ready for a bright new edition. Won two years ago by Hila Raby Yardi, Yuichi Ozaki and Alazne Extebarria, the competition is open to worldwide designers aged between 18 and 35, willing to take on the challenge and gracefully jump that invisible line that still seems to part fashion from art. With Madame Zaha Hadid as Honorary President of the Committee and a full jury to be announced soon, there's now time till December 16th for anyone to register through the Bilboost website. Once again, three generous prizes will eventually be issued: 10.000€ 1st prize in the “garment design” category, 10.000€ 1st prize in the “accessory design” category, and 5.000€ for the best work presented by a young designer from the Basque Country – as Bilboost promotes local creativity. Nothing to lose and plenty to win – hurry up then, and good luck!

Later,

Silvia
