Dear Shaded
Viewers and Diane,

"Flamingo
Massacres", Katie Eary's spring show, roosted somewhere between fluorescent
mirage and fevered apocalypse in coral and persimmon. Her urban flamingos,
styled in campy pink wigs and printed all over Eary's trademark streetwear, blossomed
in airy bikinis and chiffon ruffles for the few girls that hit the catwalk,
sylphlike and dangerous on thin golden heels. They were inspired by Irvine
Welsh
's deadly, notorious marabou, to tell a flossy red-light tale of hunters
and preys, a "primitive gender war". The boys were as confident and
loud as the drum and bass soundtrack, printed in leopard or crocodile patterns from
head to toe, wearing cargo trousers, polos, Nikes and matching skateboards.

Later,
