Kolor Men’s S/S 14 at Pitti Uomo – Text and Images by Eugene Rabkin

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Tonight we attended the Spring/Summer 2014 show by the Japanese brand Kolor, designed by Junichi Abe.

Abe showed clothes in his typical relaxed dandyism vein – in light, sumptuous fabrics and clever color combinations.

As we all know, God is in the details especially for Japanese designers, and this show was no exception. Abe's strengh is the way he utilizes color cominations, especially in the trims. The way the tucked in shirts were made from the same fabric as the top of the pants in same looks was neat and fresh. The colors seemed to run the full gamut. Perhaps one could do without the flower patterns, but the richness of Abe's more subdued hues was masterful.

There were lots of shorts, from slim to very loose, while the jackets tended to fall on the tapered side.
