Dear Diane and Shaded Viewers,
Yesterday I had the pleasure of attending the Polimoda graduate show in Florence. It was an impressive array of work, both men's and women's, in a variety of styles, from kooky club kids to goth dandies. Overall the work was creative, if sometimes referential, and I could definitely see the mentorship of Linda Loppa, the school's dynamic director, at work.
I was particularly enamoured with the work of Federica Lazzerini. Her women's creations were complex without being over-the-top of costumey.
Best,
Eugene
