I did this interview with Guy Maddin about 4-5 years ago for ZOO magazine. I was talking to a few directors yesterday about sound and unearthed this bit and thought that I'd share it with you.
I know that I am starting in the middle of your career but I was fascinated and totally amused by your description in one of your production diaries on The Saddest Music in the World for the Village Voice. The images that you conjured up with the hyper sensitive mic and the journey inside the mouth of Maria de Medeiros had me rolling on the floor. What is your approach to sound in general and what is the
