Dear Shaded Viewers,
Hideki Seo has been the right hand man to Azzedine Alaia since his graduation from the Royal Academy of Belgium in 2005, and the exhibition at PapelArt gives us a glimpse of his thought and design process. Taking center stage at the exhibition is a sculptural, dragon-like creature gracing a mannequin; and surrounding it are extracts from the designers notebook. Heavily influenced by his Japanese roots; notebook pages can at times look like comic book strips, with dragons breathing fire over hooded models. The designer has created a beautiful printed golden paper for the exhibition, as seen on the wall above, and it will be sold at the galerie as wrapping paper and wallpaper from Wednesday.
The exhibition is open until December 9th at galerie PapelArt, 1 rue Charlemagne 75004.
