A VISIT TO JEAN-PAUL LESPAGNARD’S STUDIO – TEXT BY PHILIPPE POURHASHEMI

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Belgian designer Jean-Paul Lespagnard gave us an exclusive preview of his new collection yesterday, inspired by Africa and the carnival of Binche in Belgium. This season, he was specifically inspired by the Gilles, a group of clown-like performers who parade during the carnival, wearing wax masks, wooden footwear and vibrant clothes. Lespagnard is famous for his unique prints, innovative shapes and transformable garments. He seemed relaxed and happy with the collection. I'm looking forward to seeing his show next week.
