Moonrise Kingdom by Wes Andersonis the opening film for the 65th edition of the Festival de Cannes.

The official selection (Competition, Un Certain regard, Out of Competition) will be announced on Thursday, 19 April. The 65^th Festival de Cannes will run from Wednesday 16 May to Sunday 27 May 2012.
