Dear Shaded Viewers,

Walter Van Beirendonck's exhibition at the MoMu in Antwerp -entitled "Dream The World Awake"- is a visual and sensory tour de force. In his work as a designer, Walter uses collage as a favorite method, superimposing multiple -and often contradictory- layers of cultural references. His range is incredible, from contemporary art and photography to regional folklore and history. Seeing 30 years of his work in one single space was highly pleasurable.

Nick Knight's amazing shoot and high-energy video gave his archive new meaning. I have fond memories of seeing his W&LT shows in Paris as a teenager. They were real performances.

After the tour, we got a taste of Walter in the form of delicious cookies. I strongly recommend them.
