ALEXANDRA VERSCHUEREN SPRING-SUMMER 2012 ” SHIFT ” PREVIEW – PHOTOS & TEXT BY SHOJI FUJII

Dear Shaded Viewers

I met Alexandra last year at festival d'Hyeres where she won the Grand prix from the jury members – Dries Van Noten, Michele Bocchese, Maria Cornejo, Laura Inacardona, Olivier Lalanne, Sarah Mower, Pascale Mussard, Nancy Rohde, Charlotte Stockdale.

The collection was a modification of what she had made at the Antwerp academy for her graduation in 2009.

collection " MEDIUM "

She told me that  the challenge in this new collection was " SHIFT " from her experimental collection to real ready to wear.

The show started with a group of dresses with variations of pleats and folding placed on different parts of the body as a design in clean and simple shapes – easy day dresses – 2 tone shirts with men's trousers, light coat/dress – cotton that looks like a wool blazer with a pleated skirt ,  pleated dresses, pleated top with orange cotton skirt and pink pleated dress.

When you have a closer look at the pieces you will find that they are quite constructed and complicated with details that you can not really see in the photos.
