Dear Shaded Viewers,
This is the first exhibition of Haavard Homstvedt in Paris. He lives and works in NYC. He graduated from Rhode Island school of design in 2000 and in 2003 earned his masters degree in fine arts at Yale University.
For the last 8 months he has done a residence in Paris at the Cite Internationale des Arts. "The polar fleece" descfribes a sensation, a touch, enveloped in a thick wool polar coat. The form replaces the skin. The spectator is invited to approach …but not touch.
His work has been presented in NYC, Art Basel and Oslo.
