A VISIT TO RA’S MENSWEAR SHOWROOM IN PARIS – TEXT BY PHILIPPE POURHASHEMI

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I went back to ra's exhibition space on rue de la Corderie yesterday as I wanted to talk to the designers and take a closer look at some pieces. I discovered Kevin Kramp's work and was impressed with his knits. The yarns were luxurious and the shapes were unusual.

I liked Daniel Andresen's knitted leather cardigans. They were soft and made in light tones.

I caught up with Simon-Pierre Toussaint who -along with Aliced Knackfuss- designed a great menswear line called Dearest. The tailored jackets were smart.

Highlights also included Elise Gettliffe's collection, inspired by Axl Rose and early 90s rockstars. The jackets were beautifully made. One of Romain Brau's fur blousons could only be described with one word: insane.

I met American designer Telfar and liked his take on military and utilitarian styles. He collaborated with Dr. Martens and designed some cool, faux shearling boots with them.

You still have one more day to see these collections. The showroom is located 14 rue de la Corderie near Temple.

Best,

Philippe
