FACE DRESS BY KATRIEN VAN HECKE

Dear Shaded Viewers

I have seen this face dress of Katrien Van Hecke when I was in Antwerp last month and asked her the story.

She replied
"This winter I experienced a loss. Something was gone and I wasn't able to get it back in a physical way. Still I believe that what has gone appears to me sometimes. When you're staring at the walls or tiles or when you walk in the forrest and you look at a tree or even the clouds, suddenly you see a figure emerge that could be someone's face or a certain animal.
So I composed this face that appeared to me. I wanted to catch it before it might go away and leave me again. "

Her work is very personal and about craftsmanship and modernity.
She's preparing her installation for FFI showroom during Paris fashion week in October.
