VISITING ANTWERP : IN TOWN

Dear Shaded Viewers

There are lots of exhibitions and events in Antwerp at the moment, I was only there for one day so I could not really see many of them.

VITRINE –

Designers and artists are commissioned to do window displays all over town in shops.

One was by Katrien van Hecke(designer) + Ellen van Engelen(illustrator) for their window.

Katrien made the face dress with embroidery.

Her work is always very personal in the same way that people used to do things in the "good old days" with a modern form of expression.

The irregular hand stitching on delicate fabrics embodies her inclination for expressing sensuous emotion.

I found Terumasa Nakajima's collection in the window at Louis.

It was one of my personal favorites from last night's show..

What I appreciated was the way the lace fabrics were used and the silhouettes defined.

He received 2 prizes at  this afternoon's award ceremony. Congratulations !

Rolands Peterkops & Marite Mastina aka MAREUNROLS were in town.
