Charles Guislain on Balenciaga F/W 2010

Dear Readers,

As a creative discipline, the fashion's boundaries, depending on the imagination, are imperceptible and shifting. Sometimes, designers' collections are very far from our opinion and tastes ; you can salute the performance without wearing the clothes : Balenciaga's fall is the perfect example.

With domestic objects as a starting point, Nicolas Ghesquiere created squared silhouettes, hybrid in their fabrics, bright concerning the colors. Although the looks are the result of pileups, a deep unity is emerging in each one. Ghesquiere confides being inspired by the artist Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster and the three last dresses printed with words, on the same level as the compiled shoes, speak for him : they are closing more than a show, an event, and making fashion as art.
