PHILIPPE POURHASHEMI REPORTS ON PARIS MENSWEAR F/W 2010 – FRANCISCO VAN BENTHUM / PHOTOS BY PETER STIGTER

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Menswear shows got off to a great start in Paris yesterday with some strong and individual offerings. I really enjoyed Francisco Van Benthum's show, which was inspired by the faded grandeur of Imperial Russia.

There were some great trousers, draped and pleated. Francisco continued experimenting with cuts and volumes, which created a nice play on proportions.

Fabrics were plush and luxurious. A standout piece was a double-breasted, Winter white coat with a generous fit. Just the kind of thing you'd want to wrap yourself into on cold January nights.

Best,
