Dear Shaded Viewers,
Alejandra Laviada photographs abandoned buildings in Mexico, for example she might step inside an abandoned hotel where she finds traces that the guests left behind and then she rearranges and reassembles them in a way that is more like a sculpture or performance art. She studied at the School of Visual Arts in NYC but lives and works in Mexico. Recently she showed at the NY Photo Festival and at Danziger Projects in NY as well as working with the New York Times and Wallpaper.
