KATRIEN VAN HECKE BY SHOJI FUJII

Dear Shaded Viewers

Do you remember a belgium designer Katrien Van
Hecke ? I posted a blog on her last year.

I went to Antwerp few weeks ago to photograph her past collections from 2nd and 3rd year at Master Fashion Design, KASK Gent.

model : Merel Wessing

2nd year

Rabbit fur patch worked dress.
Mixture of different rabbit furs makes  her look like a new breed of animal.
att : She doesn't use fur of rare animals.

Jelly fish dress. One of my favorites.
She explained that the dress is hand dyed by herself with a ball.

Hand dye is one of her specialities, it seems like painting fabrics for her.
3rd year

Her style continues from 2nd to 3rd year. The work is always based on craftsmanship and femininity.

I like the hair and strings hanging from the neck line.

You can't see in the pictures, but the garments often have beautiful hand dyed patterned lining.

She has been working for a designer since her graduation last year, but I hope to see more of herown  personal work in the near future as well as her paintings.
