Nom D, which stands for Nom de Plume or pen name is an urban collection that is more interested in the dark side of New Zealand than its sunshine. THis year Nom D celebrates 21 years in business and invites all inspirations into the mix, this includes punks, artists, film makers, musicians, proper gentlemen, the military, vintage dressowners, game players and a few black beetles. Margarita Robertson is the designer behind the Dunedin-based label.
The deconstruction/reconstruction Nom D collection was founded in 1986. Nom D has one of the strongest followings in Auckland, New Zealand and the atmosphere of the shows is more similar to a rock concert than a fashion show. It was one of Robb’s and my favorite collections..
