Area Defiles/Geoffrey B. Small now on IQONS

(PARIS) Images from Geoffrey B. Small’s most recent and controversial men’s Paris show at Area last week in Paris are now appearing on the IQONS Area space for a limited time. The show entitled “Classe Dirigeant” (ruling class) introduced a radical new style departure for the designer who originated the Napoleonic-style trend. Banned by the Paris fashion establishment, the presentation presented a haunting story of medieval feudalism and power along with an alarming warning for modern times. IQONS is a revolutionary new on-line fashion community founded by Suran Goonatilake and Rafael Jimenez that aims to have the same impact on fashion as MySpace had on music. Already seen by an estimated 100,000 visitors since its soft launch on January 1st this year, IQONS is part of a growing new movement of alternative online fashion media that includes Diane Pernet’s “A Shaded View on Fashion”, Filep Motwary’s “un Nouveau iDeal”, and Susie Bubble’s “Style Bubble” sites which are gaining significant internet audiences worldwide for their insider and personal views on fashion.

Area is dedicated to serving the unique needs of independent designers at a specific international level, and will present its 16th edition in Paris from 28 February to 3 March during the women’s designer week with 7 selected independent designers from the US, Europe and Japan (names of the designers will be announced next week). Area defiles will take place on the evening of Thursday 1 March at 20h30.

Area is by invitation only and organized by the Association Internationale des Createurs Independants.
