London Fashion Week Day 2

Dear Shaded Viewers,

My day started with a very interesting breakfast meeting with Dr. Suran Goonatilake OBE, the chairman and founder of Bodymetrics Ltd. and many other intriguing activities and Rafael Jimenez, formerly of Comme des Garcons and presently a consultant and now one of the founders of IQONS, a very intriguing project that he is doing in collaboration with Mr. Goonatilake. You are going to get very excited over their project but I will tell you more about that later.

Preen put on an excellent show and as you can see London is feeling short, tight and sexy. What you see very little of in these images is all the play with volumes that was an interesting start to their show. I’ve been watching Preen for years now. About 2 years ago their collection made a giant leap forward and it continues to climb higher each season. In my opinion this was one of the best LFW shows.

The London press is all a buzz about Gareth Pugh. Check out the amazing Nick Knight shots in the current issue of i-D. RobbattubeJeanfrancois
Robb trying to figure out our transport to the next show. We decided to share a taxi with Jean Francois Carly, who by the way has a film in You Wear it Well which is currently at MoMu in Antwerp. Which makes me think of Dino.DinosDinojaws

Barbara loves Robb Young, can you blame her?

Robb and I went to see our friend Mei Hui for lunch. This was the first time that I had the opportunity to visit her new shop, Respiro. Mei Hui designs under the brand Victim.

RObb and I ran off to BIBA which was one of the most talked about shows of the season, but unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. It would have been nice to see the inspiration of the 60’s vintage house taken a few steps further into the 21st century or at the very least to have made a better selection from the archives. Then we were off to the Basso and Brooke show.

I was really happy to see that Basso & Brooke left behind the dodgy tailoring and concentrated on lovely fluid shapes with elegant styling. A very nice evolution.

After the Basso & Brooke I ran into the very cool and talented team from VS magazine in Copenhagen. We had a little chat and i thought you might enjoy meeting them. As usual there were lots of parties but I was exhausted and fashioned out.
