NYC fashion week seems to be coming to Paris in the form of an exhibition by Didier Ludot of the work of Zac Posen. It seems that while Mr. Ludot was in NYC he discoverd Zac Posen and became so enamoured with him that he decided to dedicate all of his windows in the Palais Royal to his collection. This will take place from 1 – 15 October. He has named this exhibition “la promesse de l’aube”.
Dider went so far as to say that the work of Zac Posen touched him emotionally in a similar way as did the work of Elsa Schiaparelli, Balenciaga or Madame Gres.
For his part, Zac Posen, the son of a painter, Stephen Posen studied at Parsons School of NY and then went on to study at Central St. Martins before launching his career in 2002. He is inspired by the work of Madeleine Vionnet, Charles James and the Greek goddess Artemis. Celebrities that wear his clothes include Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, Demi Moore, Nathalie Portman and recently Felicity Huffman one of the heroines from Desperate Housewives for the Oscars in Hollywood.
