THe house was built by John Lautner and you can see by the construction that he liked to create a sense of danger in his houses. James commissioned artist James Turrell to build “the observatory.” It took ten years to construct but this is one of Jame’s favorite spots from where he can watch the sunrise and sunset as the retractable roof pulls back.
