I’ve probably told you that the one thing that I hate about travelling is walking through the metal detector with my 40 some odd hair pins. I would never dream of appearing in public with my own hair down so I thought that one way to avoid chaos with the metal detector was to wear a long black wig. I picked a cheap one up in Pigalle and when I tried it on in the morning I decided that it was too flat so I slipped in a Spanish comb from Madrid. Then I decided to attach my veil. Honestly this disguise probably caused more problems by the time I went through customs in Moscow. Paris was fine except for the fact was I was not feeling very comfortable with flat hair. I even got a compliment about my hair from one of the customs officials, God only knows why since it looked pretty dreadful. The woman in Moscow however scanned my passport 3 times. Probably I looked like an imposter and maybe the wig did not look all that natural, I did take off my sunglasses as she stared forever into my eyes. Finally she stamped the visa and let me in… Waiting for me at the hotel was Robb Young who had just flown in that morning from Mumbai, it was their first fashion week. He had to change planes in London and somewhere along the way British Airways lost his bags. By the time that I arrived at the Metropole hotel, his luggage did too and after I got back to my normal look the two of us were ready to go to the last show of the day Arsenicum by Enton but by the time we got to the lobby our interpretor told us that we had just missed the show. According to the rest of the international press, that was the best show . Next on the agenda was the Dazed and Confused party.
