DINO DINCO : SUNSET ON VENICE BEACH

Hello, everyone. Sorry for the lag in posting. Lots of work going on and all of a sudden, it’s Thanksgiving in America, a special time to celebrate…umm…family (blood related or “relatives by choice”), friends, the worst possible travel conditions, every store filled with rabid people getting a jump on Christmas shopping, and the real cornerstone of Thanksgiving: exploring the many ways and days we can possibly eat turkey in a row. And yeah, the Native Americans taught the delicate Pilgrims how to survive over here in the wild country and then later on, we turned around and decimated their people, but this grim history doesn’t look very good in the greeting card section of the drug store. However, if you’re at the movie rental shop and stumped for a rental idea, pick up “Adams Family Values,” wherein a very young Christina Ricci plays “Wednesday,” a beautiful and dour little girl with braided black hair and a billboard-sized forehead. She gets sent with “Pugsly” (her brother) off to a summer camp where they don’t fit in AT ALL. The camp kids are forced to put on a play for all the parents and the theme of the play is Thanksgiving. The cheerily scripted play careens toward the dark side, really fast…

Anyway, good friends in town for the holiday, so today, we found ourselves at Venice Beach.

Enjoy the end of my yesterday.
