What’s new with Gordie Hull and Fashion East celebrates their 10th season

Dear Shaded Viewers,

My morning started with a smile and a post from Gordie Hull. We met when Surface2Air set up shop in Paris, I think that was in 2002.  Gordie spends his time traveling around the globe with his art projects but is based in NYC.

I’m posting a few images from his recent Ghost series…

Here are a few excerpts from his post:  "we had an exhibition in torino italy recently, that was fun, and was followed by a lecture that i gave to an audience of 500 at the Barbican theater in London, at a creativity conference. you would have loved. i got dressed up in a red Adidas tracksuit, shaved my head, and ran across the stage doing karate kicks while espousing the surface to air creative ideology…"

it was like a motivational speech.
hilarious…. i also traveled to Dubai for another exhibition we had there. that was an amazing experience but way too much to describe in an email that isn’t solely dedicated to it.
this summer i had a painting in a show at Spencer brownstone gallery too and have been
showing work consistently for the past couple years now just as Gordon Hull.

Gordie has also made short films, I’m waiting for a few stills so that I can show them to you. I wish that Gordie had included a photo of himself at the creativity conference running across the stage doing karate kicks, he’s right, I would have loved it.

Surface to Air will have their first book coming out that is being published by GAS in Japan…A Surface to Air book about…Surface to Air.

Later,
