This was part of an installation by Candice Breitz at the Palais du Tokyo. All Cut Up is about pop culture and sampling and re-editing well known Hollywood films, promos and TV soaps to create art.
Aside from the Dallas room with a series of TV monitors all playing re-cut bits of the series, the Soliloquy Trilogy focuses on the lead characters in three Hollywood films-Sharon Stone in Basic Instinct, Clint Eastwood in Dirty Harry, Jack Nicholson in The Witches of Eastwick. It’s all about the star as the scene plays only with them. I loved it, it’s up until the 12th of June.
